Military???

what all do u do in the military? how long does it take u to train b 4 u can get a job.|||I have been in the Army for 8 and a half years. Some training can take as little as 4 weeks and other training can take up to 2 years. (Air Traffic Controller). But either way you get free training, free medical, free dental and Life Insurance. They give you money to eat off of and a Housing Allowance. Plus when you retire in 20 years you get 55 % of your base pay when you retire and you didn't have to put any extra money into it. In the civilian side you have to save for retirement. In the Military they give it to you for a job well done.. Best thing about the military is that you don't have to worry about being laid off work. You always have a job. All Military offers free college.. You never hear of Air Force guys getting killed in Iraq because they don't do anything. I have been to Iraq twice and have not been shot yet. ( 2 years total) All training is different sniper school is like 12 weeks long. The best job to get into is Computers The military is always a few years ahead of everyone else.. GO to yahoo search and start looking at all the Military Branches or call your local recruiter.. (They have the best information) Plus sometimes you can get a bonus for joining. I just re-enlisted for 5 years and got $ 22,500 Dollars up front. No civilian job will do that for you. If you want to travel join the Army. If you want adventure join the Navy. If you want to stand out in the CROWD join the MARINES.

Rescuing opportunities join the Coast Guard. Best Housing Air Force. Any way good luck. I'm in Korea now. Camp Stanley.

Plus if your from Illinois and in the Military you don't pay state taxes. (jbasmn1 at yahoo )|||There are thousands of jobs in the military. The training depends on the job.|||What you do depends all on your MOS, job. Training is different lengths for the different branches. It ranges from about 9 to 13. Then usually you go to AIT/MCT/BMT/SOI. Then you actually go to your specialized school, the length of school has a lot to do with your MOS. If it is something electronic you go longer than if it is some type of mechanic job. Once you complete schooling you go the the fleet and do your job. But like I said everything depends on branch and MOS.|||Train every day so we can be qualified to defend the USA

You start by going through basic training for 8 weeks and then you go through 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and you go do the job that you were trained to do.In order to be a sniper, you have to go school for a certain number of weeks and it is tough. Hope this helps.|||Want to be a sniper? You don't seem to ask for much, LOL! A wide variety of jobs, some of them are even shooting people. Take an aircraft carrier for instance. It is a city of thousands designed to deliver a few hundred air planes to do some business in support of others. Meanwhile, you've mechanics to cooks, to meteorologists, to urologists, to guys who check and change lightbulbs to guys who load and unload bombs and bullets--and a few who actually fly out somewhere to shoot them. The army and marines and air force all have their place and piles of places where people do different useful work. One of the first things you will do is take several hours worth of tests to see what kinds of things you might be good at doing. Then the military will compare that to the kinds of useful things they need people to do. Some of the really, really good and capable people get the really special jobs. If it turns out from rifle training that you can shoot a fly at half-a mile and sneak silently through just about anything anywhere and anytime, then maybe, if they need another one, they might tap you to learn how to do it really, really well.|||Becoming a sniper is not an easy thing to do. In the Marines(some of the best snipers in the world) you have to go Infantry, than you may or may not get a chance to become a sniper. Keep in mind, it isn't all shooting terrorist. Most of the time you are just watching and observing. Hence the name Scout Sniper.|||I will only answer the sniper question since the rest seems a bit vague. The Marine Corps puts a lot of stock and pride in their snipers because it is the best job in the Corps. Or so I have heard. In the Army you need to be Infantry and qualify expert with the M-16 which is not a big deal if you are already Infantry. Then keep bugging your chain of command to send you to sniper school. I have heard from guys it is pretty cool but you pretty much low crawl everywhere. Lastly, I believe according to Army doctrine each platoon has to have a certain amount of sniper qualified individuals so it shouldn't be very hard to get the school. In my opinion the marines see being a sniper as a whole new job whereas the Army sees it as a new skillset in your progression as an Infantryman.|||good choice
