Statistics wise, the United States is the most powerful superpower in the world, followed by China, however China's power stems from its industrial strength and manpower, not by it's technology, so let's compare the United States to the world's truly most advanced militaries.
Currently, technological wise, the United States and Russia, followed by Germany are the most advanced militaries in the world, and although Germany and Russia are not as powerful as the United States, their technology is nearly equal to ours. The U.S. introduced the first fifth generation fighter into military service: The F-22 Raptor. Russia is following very closely with the SU-47 Bekrut and MiG-35 Fulcrum and these will soon be in their air force's repertoire as well.
The M1A2 Abrams, the current Main Battle Tank in the United States military is equipped with a 120mm M256 cannon, which is a gun developed by Rheinmetall, Germany. Ever since the Second World War Germany has dominated as having some of the most advanced armor ever fielded. With the introduction of the Leopard 2A7 last year, Germany currently holds the most powerful tank in the world.
In terms of small-arms, all three countries are evenly matched. Germany has produced some of the finest firearms to date and German companies such as Heckler and Koch are some of the most reputable firearms producers in the world. Russia has introduced their AK-100 series, a model that is vastly superior to their previous weapons and on an equal level to U.S. small arms, and the United States currently fields some of the world's most deadly firearms.
This debate can go on and on. In terms of strength, America may be the most powerful, however technologically, we are being followed -VERY- close behind and in some aspects we are even surpassed.|||No problem, glad I was able to assist. :)

|||The US Military is very advanced, probably the most advanced. It really depends on what kind of "Advanced" you are talking about though, "technologically advanced", is probably the US, Israel and other countries that most Americans can't locate on a map. When it comes to training on the other hand, the US is not even in the top 3... no offence or anything but 50% of your military is high school drop outs and former delinquents. What the US lacks in a soldier is made up by their technology and other expenses.
Hope this helped|||The U.S. has a mixed bag of higher and lower tech compared to other nations. There are countries with laser guided mortar rounds, laser guided tank rounds, active tank defense systems, helicopters with ejection seats, tanks that can go underwater, laser designated air burst rounds fired from rifles such as the K-11 and air to air missiles that have greater range than U.S. missiles. There are very few things the U.S. does have a lead on. That's night vision, stealth aircraft and fire control systems. If you take away the B-2, the F-117, the Apache-D and the F-22, there are other countries that meet or beat the U.S. in technology.|||we are the "most technologically advanced" through tons of money then its Russia|||Very|||We are # 1.|||We spend more money on the military than the next 10 countries combined. What do you think?
