Can you have a military drivers license if your civilians license is suspended?
A friend of mine is stationed at Ft. Campbell. He's been in the military for almost a year, but prior to getting into the military his license was suspended and is still suspended to this day. He's supposed to get it back in November. He tells me that since he has a military DL he can drive Humvees and other military vehicles. He never told me how he got a military DL so Im not sure what to believe. So is it possible that he has a DL on base, but not a civilian DL?|||a military drivers license is a permit to drive a military vehicle on base and they specify what type vehicle you can drive. they are no good off base. and yes you can get one without a civilian license|||There is no such thing as Military DL, you can get a Military ID Card.. But until he is out and discharged from the Military his license is VALID regardless because that happened to my ex.. We got pulled over while he was in the Military for a suspended state DL but we contested it in traffic court and it was all dismissed because he was active duty. So once he is out he has to get it renewed.|||I have a lot of family members in the military and I never heard of this. I mean he can drive veichles for his job...and I'm sure they have something like that for people who have their civilin liscence suspended. If his job requires driving then he still has to do his job and that's that.|||Yes it is possible, if the motor pool NCOIC did not check his civilian license. He may have a military driving license but he can't drive off base. Yes military licenses are based on civlian, but you can slip through.
