How to support military personnel but oppose the reasons for them being overseas, without seeming un-American?

I believe that military is good for energetic youth and an essential part of any nation's defense. But I see people on two sides of a single issue: support the troops or oppose the war. How to find middle ground which promotes military service but doesn't place service members in unnecessary danger?|||It is easy to support our troops but not the government. That is a right you have by being a American. Our troops do not make doctrine they follow orders. The government can make terrible decisions and then tell the military to go do something totally wrong. The troops do what the government ask of them no question. Always support your troops, they are the youth of our nation. You never HAVE to support the government but always support the troops.|||I do not see people on both sides of this issue. I see the conservative side, which purports to support the military yet approves of sending them into unwise wars and sends them without the right equipment, and I see the liberal side, which warns against unncessary wars and disapproves of certain missions but supports the troops that are sent to carry out the missions and lobbies for them to have the right equipment. The liberal side also speaks up for military families (Michele Obama's first choice of issues), speaks up for better medical care for vets, speaks up for defining the mission and making sure we have an exit strategy, and supports avoiding quagmires like Vietnam was and Iraq now is.|||You are always entitled to your own opinion. Just remember these young men and women choose to serve our country, but they dont always choose where to serve. Their job is to meet the needs of the nation even though they might not always what they are others agree with. Just support them in every way possible, you are not supporting the war by doing that, you are supporting Americans, just like you, who are out making some sort of difference in the world.|||You can't be this wishy washy in life. Someone has to be tough so metro-sexual , tree hugging ,tea sipping , fancy lads like you can sit around pondering nonsense.|||questioning your governments decisions IS american. there is nothing more american than that. anybody who tells you otherwise is ignorant.|||Give a Donation to the Navy relief fund and other org......
