I want to join the military, but go to school at the SAME TIME. The benefits will really help me as well as for the fact that I want to serve our country. Im a woman in her first year at a private university. Please let me know which one would let me study and serve at the same time, as well as help me pay for my education. Thanks!|||Just be aware that your education is not guaranteed..And it also depends on what your job will be in the military.
I would choose the Air Force..and I would stay clear of the USMC..|||I would say either Navy or Airforce.|||army reserves : )|||Have you checked with the colleges? I know my university had a program where you were tequnically in the army but you wouldnt get shipped anywhere or go through any of the major army stuff until after you graduated. Once you graduated you went to basic training and continued with the army...
Sorry my friends husband was in it, i wasnt personally, but i would call the college you are thinking about attending and talk to them first.|||well i'm in the Air Force, and i'm deployed in Qatar right now. with my job as a vehicle operator, i have plenty of down time. if there isn't a mission, i just sit here and watch TV or sit on YA. but not every job is as cushy as mine. It also depends on which type of command you are assigned to. some are more fast paced, and some are slower paced. so alot of it is luck of the draw. i wouldn't plan on going Full Time. the Air Force is currently offering 100% tuition assistance with a maximum of 4,500 a year.
if you want to know more just email me|||You would be better off doing ROTC.
Air Force is your best bet but don't go in expecting you will go to school full time. You could easily get stuck in a job that leaves no time for college at all and that will just be your tough luck. With two warfronts right now, there is a very good chance of that happening.|||ROTC (any branch), National Guard, and Reserves (any branch).
You can usually get a 2 year undeployable clause in your contract for Guard/Reserve (army) to help you finish college before you get sent anywhere.
Check out what jobs are available for each and I highly suggest that you pick one that will help you later on (i.e. don't pick an MOS like mechanic if you want to be a lawyer).
You also have the option of going full-time when you have finished school.
Talk to the ROTC reps at your school, look at each branch's websites and call a recruiter.|||by far i would say the Army National Guard. i joined when i was 17 (still in high school) im starting collage in the spring with almost all of it paid for. not to mention there is hundreds of careers to choose from and chances are that there is one that will apply directly to what what your studying in school. for instance im an MP (military police) and im going to school for law enforcement. an important detail about the national guard that no other reserve force can say is that your not going to be moved out of state. even in the reserves they can transfer your unit out of state or even separate you from your unit and deploy you with with another unit. so i would say either army gaurd or air guard. email me if you got any Qs.
