Military..?

I'm currently thinking about joining the Military, I'm wanting a full-time job that I could possably make a good career out of. I seen some interesting things that would be fun. How ever I would like to get a job similar to what I do for hobbys, and take interest in. Like I love being outside alot, I Like hiking into the woods and getting lost and trying to find my way back through from a different route. Also Like fishing, and always took a big interest in aircrafts. Any ideas for what jobs I could get relating to any of these things?|||The airforce has the best treatment of their "employees". They have shorter deployments. You almost never hear about an AF guy getting killed in Iraq. The airforce has the largest budget per person, so they have nice facilities, and get to attend college for free. Their bases are usually located in great areas. In the Navy, Marines, or Army, expect to get good training, little education, and a lot of time away from home (on deployments).|||Cool!!!

|||Garth,

I also am retired Army Personnel. However, I also had during my career a LOT of experience with the other services. While your answer was MOSTLY correct, the Navy is very nearly comparable to the Air Force these days for many of the reason you cited for the Air Force.

|||If you want to join the military speak to a recruiter; however,

before you do so ensure you know what you are getting yourself into. Expect to be treated like less of a person. Speak to a recruiter though and request information you want. Don't trust brochures but speak to people in the service.

|||Once a recruiter hears "In the woods" come outta your mouth, you are headed straight to Ft Benning Ga. where they will school you up and make you an "11-Bulletstopper" Infantry type. (Trim your toe nails, wear dry socks my boy...your'e gonna need em!)

|||maybe you should go and talk to a recruiter. talk to all of them and ask about their air side. You'll have to take the asvab and see what jobs you qualified for. just make sure you check everything out and then come up with a decision. Don't let the recruiter talk you into anything untill you checked out everything first. Remember they get paid by how many sign up. So sometimes they don't put your best intrest in mind.|||Like to get lost in the woods?? Oh you need to go Army ROTC then! They will make you a 2nd Lt, and thats pretty much all 2nd Lts do.|||have you tried going on different military websites like the navy or marines. i know the navy has a career matchmaker type thing going on that leads you to different jobs depending on your answers.|||go to goarmy.com locate a local recruiter, or browse through the job categories and find one you like.|||i your destiny going to iraq i don't think you should join the military.|||First of all do you even know that the army is THE ARMY? It is not an outdoor sport, a hobby, or a pastime, people get KILLED in wars. "Bullets Kill!", think about that...
