How does the military conduct its background check and what will show up on a military background check?

I am interested in joining the military and have misdemeanors on my record. I was wondering how the military conducts back ground checks and was wondering what will show up on a military background check?|||They are pretty strict in checking backgrounds but if you were under age when the offense occurred you should be good to go.|||my back ground so cleen it queek's.. |||They do it in two ways. First is to have the local recruiters check at the local courthouse for any local convictions and pending charges. The second is more extensive and involves an FBI search of a national data base for convictions anywhere in the u.s. If you enlist under false pretenses, and the misdemeanors are found in the national data base, then you can be charged with a military crime of falsifying your enlistment.|||Anything younger than 18 won't be looked at. Other than that, depends on the misdemeanors. Drugs and alcohol for drinking between 18 and 21 will likely pass muster. Sexual assault middemeanors won't.
